Dr. Nicole King-Smith is a prominent figure in the Southwest Florida community, known for her unwavering commitment to service and leadership. As a dedicated member of the Future Makers Equity Action team and the Co-Chair of the Hospitality team, Dr. King-Smith is deeply involved in shaping the future of the region.


Currently serving as the Tourism Education Director for Lee County Visitor Convention Bureau, Dr. King-Smith is instrumental in training hospitality professionals and organizations, empowering them to achieve exceptional customer service results. She is also the CEO and founder of NK Enterprise Consulting, LLC, where she provides expert training and consultation to professionals and organizations, helping them navigate workplace culture and overcome generational differences.


Dr. King-Smith's impact extends beyond her professional roles, as she has played a pivotal role in shaping educational curriculums. Notably, she successfully developed Keiser University’s Associates of Arts hospitality curriculum, expanding it to four campuses throughout the state of Florida within a remarkably short period.


Recognized for her outstanding contributions, Dr. King-Smith has been honored with the Elaine McLaughlin E-Award in the category of Business/Other services. Her expertise has been showcased at numerous conferences, where she has captivated audiences with her dynamic speaking ability.


In addition to her professional endeavors, Dr. King-Smith is actively involved in various boards and associations, including the Women of Color Golf, SWFL Restaurant & Lodging Association, and SWFL Attractions Association, among others. She has also lent her expertise to career workshops in partnership with the NFL Alumni, supporting their "Life after Football" theme.


Dr. King-Smith's academic journey is equally impressive, having earned her bachelor’s in business administration from Florida A & M University, an MBA in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Strayer University, and her Ph.D. in Organizational Management from Capella University.


FutureMakers Coalition is a collective impact initiative dedicated to helping Southwest Floridians attain high-quality credentials for the workforce. With a goal to ensure that 55% of adults between the ages of 25-64 in the region have education beyond high school by 2025, the coalition is focused on supporting traditional-age students and adults facing barriers to education.


Dr. Nicole King-Smith's multifaceted contributions and unwavering dedication make her an exemplary FutureMaker, driving positive change and empowerment in Southwest Florida.
